EXPLANATION AND PROJECT OBJECTIVES

The Sponsorship project is an idea which was born a few years ago in order to secure regular money (on a monthly basis) to overcome the economical uncertainty of Baan Saan Rak, to improve the present conditions of the care assistance and to fund higher education for the children who have finished secondary school. The annual cost of the higher education for the three teenagers who study at a Technical High School is 20.000 Bath each (about 700 US Dollars) which takes up a big part of the orphanage’s budget. This amount is going to increase in the next 2 years because more children will start going to High Schoo. As reader can see here, needs of the children are so different and so many- they always exceed the financial capacities.

In brief, the Sponsorship Project BSR aims to work on 3 economic objectives:

Receive permanent contribution for food, pay the bills and make activities for children.
Hire a staff woman who helps Jit with daily care and tasks of children.
Support the cost of High School of children who want to keep studding.

With regular donations by sponsors BSR will be able to give more and better resources for the development, education and care of the children who call Baan Saan Rak their home. We will keep the sponsors informed about the activities, the school grades and the development of the children so they can be part of their present and support their future.

USE OF NEW RESOURCES, GOALS AND CONTRIBUTION

Even though the sponsorship goals depend on variables like: cost of activities (going to the movies, going swimming etc.), cost of transportation, High school scholarship and fees etc. it is estimated that a support of 600 bath monthly (for each of the 23 children who Jit cares for at the moment) will be enough to provide better conditions for their present development and for their future.

To reach that amount, we propose a monthly donation of:

40% of Support: 300 Bath (10 US Dollars or 9 EUR), Will help to buy food and pay the bills of BSR (electricity, school materials, etc).
60% of Support: 450 Bath (15 US Dollars or 14 EUR), Will help to buy food, pay the bills and hire a staff woman who will help taking care of the children.
100% of Support: 600 Bath (20 US Dollars or 18 EUR), Will help to buy food, pay the bills, hire a staff woman who will help taking care of the children and fund High School for the children who want to keep studying after Secondary School.

COMMITMENT TO SPONSORS

To become a sponsor means establishing a relationship, a link and a commitment with the present and future development of the kids in Baan Saan Rak. This includes a monthly contribution and also creates a link of trust and love between the sponsor and BSR.

To establish this relationship we will send reports of the children every 6 months in which we will let you know about the activities and the development of the children. The sponsor will be given the opportunity to keep posted about what is happening in Baan Saan Rak. Is also important to say that doors of the orphanage are always open for visits and it is possible to take part in the children’s activities. At the same time social networks (Facebook) and e-mails are an easy and convenient way to stay informed and to keep in touch with the children. There will be pictures of activities, new projects, etc. And of course, this way the sponsors will get to know the children in BSR even better.

To be more specific, the commitment from BSR to the sponsors means sending a report via email every 6 months with information about the following details:

School Results.
Health and disease record.
Activities which were made possible due to the donations (school and BSR).
A letter or drawing made by the children for New Year.
